Bank of America Merrill Lynch has hired John Mostofi as a Midwest region executive for global commercial banking.
Mr Mostofi will succeed Eugene Godbold, who will continue to lead commercial real estate banking, a national business. The Midwest region includes Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Ohio. Both are based in Chicago.
Mr Mostofi has more than 20 years of commercial lending experience and began his banking career at LaSalle Bank in 1989. In his most recent position, he served as West division president of Bank of America Business Capital, where he was responsible for asset-based loan origination, underwriting and relationship management for the geographic region extending from Chicago to California, and from Canada to Texas.
David Darnell, president of global commercial banking at Bank of America, said: “We are pleased to dedicate Mr Mostofi’s leadership and expertise to our Midwest commercial banking clients as we continue to build market share in Chicago and throughout the Midwest.”
