Allied Irish Banks has appointed Nick Treble, managing director of AIB global treasury, as the group's new chief risk officer and a member of the AIB group executive committee.

He will take up his new post at the end of the year on the retirement of current AIB chief risk officer and group executive committee member, Shom Bhattacharya.

He subsequently held posts as assistant treasurer; head of treasury, Britain; and general manager, capital markets, AIB London, before taking up his current role in Dublin as managing director, AIB global treasury in 2001.
