AEGON has launched a pensions reform microsite as a business tool to help advisers and employers plan and prepare for the pensions reforms scheduled to take place in 2012. The website represents the first phase of an ongoing communications program to support advisers and employers. The portal is aimed at financial advisers initially, to help them educate companies in getting to grips with the new legislation and how it will affect them.
It has been reported that the website has been designed as an easy-to-use interactive tool that provides useful facilities and searchable content. It provides a step-by-step guide to pensions reform and helps advisers develop action plans specific to their own circumstances and clients. There is also the opportunity to benefit from AEGON’s expertise in this area, through a panel of experts including head of Pensions Development, Rachel Vahey.
The website features a video introduction from AEGON UK chief executive, Otto Thoresen and covers all the detail relating to employer responsibilities, including auto-enrolling employees into a pension scheme and the minimum level of contributions that must be paid of a jobholder’s earnings.
