Financial Technology Service Provider

FIS Expands Presence in the Philippines

FIS™, one of the world’s largest providers of banking and payments technology, today announced that it is increasing its footprint in the Philippines by launching a new service center in Manila. FIS marked the expansion with an inaugural event today featuring executives from FIS, Her Excellency, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, president of the Philippines and other local dignitaries.

FIS has been serving bank clients in the Philippines for the past 20 years, providing Systematics and Bankway International core banking products. Additionally, FIS is delivering advanced customer interaction management solutions to help clients enhance overall sales and service to profitably grow relationships. FIS’ new service center will offer strategic outsourcing, call center and technology services to banking institutions.

FIS clients in the Philippines, as well as throughout other parts of the world, will now have access to global delivery capabilities, such as call center, back office processing and data center services to stay competitive in their marketplace. The addition of this center is a strategic move by FIS to reinforce its position in this region and is important to FIS’ future growth and profitability. To support these growth objectives, the company anticipates an increase in staff at this location from currently 150 employees to approximately 1,000 in the next 18 months.

“FIS believes there is great opportunity for the BPO industry and we are excited about the marketplace in the Philippines,” said Ram Chary, executive vice president of FIS’ Global Commercial Services division. “FIS’ strategy is to continue to build upon our past success in this business in the US, India and Brazil and actively participate in the economic development of the region by adding more jobs in the Philippines.”
